“He’s a class action,” Christie said. “These are the type of players that I hope to. He is in a similar situation to me. The positions the way he and he picks up hurts his finishing and teams as well.
“The ball in for their next aim was terrifying and his finish to the fourth is pretty impressive also.
“It’s great for me. I wish to test myself against the best teams in the world so it is a learning experience for me so hopefully I understand from it and proceed.”
After losing 2-1 at home night, the defeat was Scotland’s fourth out of six Group I which leaves them at fifth place, above minnows San Marino who are bottom and with no stage.
The unwanted of clarke have San Marino at home a month and four games remaining, Russia off, until Cyprus away and Kazakhstan in Hampden in November. Christie insists he is confident of Scotland qualifying for a major championship for the first time since 1998.
He explained:”Going to it (the campaign) we had the play-offs because of fall-back, we didn’t need to need to work with it but it looks like we’re going to get to if we’re going to make it there.
“Clearly they had been two very unsatisfactory benefits but even after that, we still feel close as a group. We’ve taken more of this manager’s ideas . I believe there are a couple positives we can take from this although I know that it seems daft getting defeat 4-0 in the home.
“It’s the small things that cost you in this level in soccer, especially against a team like Belgium. They scored in their first counter-attack. It is so hard to plagiarize as well as the quality they have once they move is outstanding.
“That’s the level we’re attempting to get to. We’ve got four matches left in the group to finish as high as we could and take that in the play-off.”
